Introduction
This guide provides a list of books written by Members of 117th U.S. Congress that are available in the general collections of the Library of Congress. If a book is not listed here, it may be because of the published format of the title (e.g., audio, ebook, etc.) or, because the book has not yet been received at the Library from the publisher.
The 117th Congress convened on January 3, 2021. It is currently the most diverse Congress in history, including:
59 African Americans
54 Hispanic and Latinos
23 Asian Americans
6 Native Americans (4 Native Americans were re-elected and 2 newly elected)
148 Members are women
The average age of Members of the House at the beginning of the 117th Congress was 58.4 years; of Senators, 64.3 years.
The 117th Congress is made up of 437 Representatives (not including 4 vacant seats) and 100 Senators, with Democrats holding the House majority. In the Senate, there are 50 Republicans, 48 Democrats and 2 Independents which caucus Democrat.
