Readers can request the following list of Albanian newspapers from the 1940s-2000s in the Newspaper and Current Periodicals Reading Room.
The first four titles are large-circulation dailies or weeklies published between the 1990s-2000s. Most of the titles listed after next are newspapers established in the 1940s, several of which have ceased publication.
The Library of Congress also holds a few diaspora newspapers of the Albanian-American community. The earliest, Dielli, was published in Boston between 1909-1910. Publication was discontinued after a year, and succeeded by other similarly titled newspapers like Dielli dhe Flamur= Sun and Banner. A more contemporary newspaper, Illyria has been published in the Bronx since 1991. All these can be requested in the Newspaper and Current Periodicals Reading Room.
