This guide provides resources on art criticism, biographies, and exhibitions about American Realist artists.

Introduction

This guide highlights online and print resources on American Realist art, a style of art from the 19th century to the early 20th century that depicted scenes of everyday life. The "Books" page offers lists of art criticism sources and biographies on such artists as William Glackens, George Bellows, Thomas Eakins, Edward Hopper, George Luks, Robert Henri, and John Sloan.  The "Online Articles..." page provides links to art journal article databases, art image databases, and art auction record databases.  This guide contains lists of exhibition catalogs in print and online collections and exhibits.
