The Library of Congress Online Catalog (OPAC) and Prints and Photographs Division Online Catalog (PPOC) are the first sources to locate collections or items you are looking for. There are several strategies to keep in mind.
- Try specific architect, designer, photographer, or creator names, such as “Rudolph” or “Korab”. Consider variations in spelling, if you are having trouble retrieving results.
- Using OPAC, search “architect” or “photographer” as a SUBJECT in the advanced search option.
- Using Library of Congress Subject Headings: Authorized subject headings can be useful when searching in online catalogs. Subject headings include standardized topics, names, places, titles, and forms/genres of material. The linked subject headings below will perform searches in the Library's online catalog.
