Black Composers: A Guide to Resources at the Library of Congress

Music Anthologies

Anthologies of musical scores are a great way to experience a variety of repertoire. Some anthologies are for particular instrumentation with works by many composers. Other anthologies contain multiple works by single composers. In some cases, anthologies include previously unpublished works by underrepresented composers. Anthologies, like single composition titles, have call numbers that begin with M (Music).

The following titles link to fuller bibliographic information in the Library of Congress Online Catalog, and can be used in the Performing Arts Reading Room. You can also search for them in your local institution's holdings or request inter-library loans.
