Lambeth Palace Library is the historic library and record office of the Archbishops of Canterbury and the principal repository of the documentary history of the Church of England (Anglican Church). This collection of reproductions includes manuscripts of the Archbishop of Canterbury chiefly relating to travel and conditions in the Americas during the colonial period. Also included are the items relating to the activities of the Anglican Church in the Americas that were formerly housed at Fulham Palace, records of the Christian Faith Society, and materials relating to the activities of the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (SPG). Researchers particularly interested in the SPG should see the separate SPG page in this research guide.
The below guide to this collection is provided by Manuscript Reading Room staff. Users with additional questions regarding navigation and access to the collection are encouraged to request assistance through Ask a Librarian.
