Miscellaneous Public Record Office Collections

This series contains smaller collections of reproductions from the Public Record Office. Included are materials from the following classes of records: Cabinet Office, Commonwealth Relations Office, Court of Chancery, Court of King’s Bench, Customs Office, Exchequer, Maps and Plans, Prime Minister’s Office, Privy Council, Treasury Solicitor, and HM Procurator General. Cabinet Office

Commonwealth Relations Office (now at British Library): India Office Records

These materials were microfilmed at the Commonwealth Relations Office; they were subsequently transferred to the British Library. The arrangement below reflects the order imposed by the British Library.

Court of Chancery

Reproductions of materials from the Chancery records in Great Britain the originals of which span the years 1623-1753. Chiefly communications between the vice-admiralty commission and various colonial governors in Virginia.

Customs Office (Records of the Boards of Customs, Excise, and Customs and Excise, and HM Revenue and Customs)

These materials consist of photostats and microfilm of records of the Boards of Customs, Excise, and Customs and Excise, and HM Revenue and Customs. All materials listed here are also available digitally from The National Archives (formerly Public Record Office.) The collection relates to trade in North America during the colonial period, particularly in Virginia.

Court of King's Bench records

Public Record Office maps and plans, 1722-1778.

Records of the British Prime Minister, 1941-1944

Privy Council Office

These records consist of two series: Privy Council I (Unbound papers) and Privy Council 2 (Registers).
