U.S. Census Connections: A Resource Guide

Census of Governments

The Census of Governments is authorized by the United States Code, Title 13, Section 161 and taken every five years since 1957. This census covers all state and local governments including counties, cities, townships, special districts, and school districts. The data obtained cover government organization, government employment and payroll, and government finance.
