The digital collections of the Library of Congress contain a wide variety of materials associated with nurse, educator, philanthropist, and lecturer Clara Barton (1821-1912), including the Manuscript Division's collection of Clara Barton Papers which span the years 1805-1958. Included are both Barton's personal papers and official records of the American Red Cross (formerly the American Association of the Red Cross) retained by her during her tenure as president from 1881 to 1904.
