Introduction
The digital collections of the Library of Congress contain a wide variety of materials associated with nurse, educator, philanthropist, and lecturer Clara Barton (1821-1912), including the Manuscript Division's collection of Clara Barton Papers which span the years 1805-1958. Included are both Barton's personal papers and official records of the American Red Cross (formerly the American Association of the Red Cross) retained by her during her tenure as president from 1881 to 1904. This resource guide compiles links to digital materials available throughout the Library of Congress website. In addition, it provides links to external websites focusing on Clara Barton and a bibliography containing selected works for both general and younger readers.
