Classics: A Resource Guide

Electronic Resources

This list represents only a small sample of electronic databases available to researchers at the Library of Congress. Moreover, since classical studies is interdisciplinary in nature, many of the databases listed below are general in scope and provide access to a myriad of periodicals concerning the humanities and social sciences. Journals relating to classical subject matter would be included in those databases.

Databases and External Websites

The subscription resources marked with a padlock are available to researchers on-site at the Library of Congress. If you are unable to visit the Library, you may be able to access these resources through your local public or academic library.

Below are some websites that serve as good places to begin for learning more about classical civilization, ancient Greek, and Latin literature. Some of these resources also contain primary Greek and Latin texts.
