There are a number of products free and subscription based, that in some way cover the colonial period in America, and many of them are included here. The Library of Congress subscribes to many databases though they are only available to onsite researchers but we have included a few that the Library does not subscribe to that you may be able to access elsewhere. The subscription resources marked with a padlock are available to researchers on-site at the Library of Congress. If you are unable to visit the Library, you may be able to access these resources through your local public or academic library.
Not available at the Library of Congress. This first collection (CO 1) represents thousands of papers that were presented to the Privy Council and the Board of Trade between 1574-1757, and that relate to the governance of, and activities in, the American, Canadian and West Indian colonies of England. The vendor worked in association with The National Archives External in London to create the product. This is a subscription database so check your local or university library for availability.
