Pick of the Week for October features a vintage video of Chick Corea's Touchstone Quintet, a virtual concert of Daymé Arocena, and more. After Corea's sad passing, the Concert Series wanted to pay tribute to Chick's immense contribution to the music world by streaming his 2005 concert at the Coolidge Auditorium. Unfortunately, you will see that the quality of the video is not the greatest. Still, we are thrilled to share his concert and pay tribute to his legacy. On October 22, we featured the virtual performance of Habana-born jazz vocalist Daymé Arocena. Check out the conversation with the artist to learn the behind-the-scenes story of the recording of the video and the short educational videos. Finally, this month we feature the conversation with Alice Coote and Christian Blackshaw about their virtual performance of Tchaikovsky and his Poets and a conversation with pianist Leif Ove Andnes.
