In addition to microfiche, there are also print copies of selected corporate reports to shareholders dated prior to 1960. To identify companies for which reports are available, search the Library of Congress Online Catalog by company name.

There are also external online sources and subscription databases providing access to corporate annual reports.

Listing Statements of the New York Stock Exchange

The Library has a set of the Listing Statements of the New York Stock Exchange which was published from 1884-1983. It contains the actual prospectuses of companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange during that time period, thus providing for each stock offering extremely valuable financial data and information on the company's business at the time of the listing. The Library’s set covers the years 1884-1984. You will need an index to use the set but there is no comprehensive index for the complete time period.

ProQuest Historical Annual Reports covers over 800 companies and contains digital reproductions for more than 43,000 reports. The database is an excellent source for research on companies, industries, American history, graphic design, advertising, and corporate architecture. Key data include: financial information; Fortune 500 ranking; industry classification; key people; geographic location; auditor; and related companies. Reports can be browsed by company name, industry or date.

This resource created and maintained by Purdue University Libraries presents a merged list of the corporate annual reports held at twelve university libraries and can be searched by keyword or by university.
Columbia Historical Corporate Reports Online Collection External
Patrons seeking annual reports for companies which operated in the New York City area may also be interested in this digital collection at Columbia University Libraries, which includes approximately 770 corporate reports issued between the 1850's and the early 1960's, representing 36 companies.
EDGAR (Securities & Exchange Comission)
Since the mid-1990's most domestic corporate filings, including required annual 10K reports, have been filed electronically with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and can be searched and viewed online using EDGAR, the Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval system, maintained by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

LSEG (formerly Refinitiv) External
This data vendor has an On-Demand service with historical SEC filings and annual reports for a fee.
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC documents prior to 1996)
To locate SEC documents prior to 1996 which are not available in any of the sources above, patrons may contact the Securities and Exchange Commission directly following the instructions near the bottom of the SEC's Public Documents.
The Public Reference Room (PRR) has reopened to members of the public who wish to review Forms 144 from the last 90 days filed in paper. The PRR is open on Wednesdays from 10am-3:30pm.
