There has been much written about Milhaud and his impact on 20th-century music. This section focuses primarily on texts that were written either by Milhaud, those who were closest to Milhaud, as well as other prominent figures whose work was greatly inspired by Milhaud. Please note that many of these texts were originally written in French and have been translated. For the most accurate accounts, the French versions of these texts are considered authoritative and should be consulted whenever possible. Please see this guide's Manuscript Writings and Correspondence section for details about the manuscript of Milhaud's autobiography Notes sans musique.
This section highlights a few of the published collections of correspondence to and from Darius Milhaud within the Music Division's holdings.
