This guide provides an assortment of print and electronic materials to get you started in your research of the histories of various engineering disciplines.

The history of engineering is incredibly rich and vast. This guide is not meant to be exhaustive, but a starting point for further research on the history of engineering and some of its most popular disciplines.

Included in this guide are books that focus on a variety of general and subject-specific engineering history. Given the length of time it takes to publish books and the fact that information is constantly evolving, it is important to supplement books with journal articles and other sources as a way to keep up-to-date.
