We have tried to include books, directories, and other resources for those studying the industry as well as things shed light on the industry. Given the length of time it takes to publish books and the fact that fashion and the industry is constantly evolving, it is important to supplement books with trade literature and other sources as a way to keep up-to-date.
The following materials link to fuller bibliographic information in the Library of Congress Online Catalog. Links to online resources are included when available.
Many new books are being published electronically and articles from many journals are easily seen though publisher sites but they do require subscriptions or purchase. This is important particularly for those research emerging technologies and trends. The Library subscribes to several Taylor & Francis eBook and Online, Sage Knowledge, SAGE Journals Online, de Guyter Online, Emerald and the most notable. Additionally, the Library also has an internal system for ebooks and articles called Stacks. Many catalog records do not when that title is available though those databases but often they do not so searching them individually would be necessary.
The links to articles below are just a selection, there are many newer and other sources. I have tried to include those that touch on topics mentioned on the General Resources page. Additional internet research as well as searching full-text databases will be important to find substantive discussions on more nebulous ideas and other emerging trends.
