Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, was impeached by the House in 2024 on charges of high crimes and misdemeanors related to the United States' southern border. The impeachment included two articles: willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law and breach of the public trust. After his impeachment in the House, the Senate dismissed the charges against him on April 17, 2024.
