The University of Delaware has digitized many documents from the Colored Conventions movement, in which Black Americans (mostly men) gathered in various Northern cities before the Civil War to coordinate their activism and resistance to oppression.
New York State Historic Newspapers, a free database, includes the National Anti-Slavery Standard, the official paper of the American Anti-Slavery Society. The paper commented widely on anti-slavery activities across the country, and frequently printed lists of subscribers to the paper and donors to the Society.
