Directories focus primarily on the Bay Area and the coast, but also Oregon, Nevada, and Arizona. Included are French Californians by occupation, and with addresses listed by city, including those of San Francisco, San Jose, Portland, and Sacramento. Also includes Journal, a newspaper which ran from 1871-1885 in San Francisco.
