The Library's E-Resources Online Catalog (EROC) provides searchable access to both subscription and free electronic resources. The catalog is available at: https://eresources.loc.gov/. From the EROC landing page, look under the Arts and Humanities category, select the topic of Genealogy. Look for e- resources marked (at right) as "Free Access" — you can access these from your home computer.
Go back to the Eresources Online Catalog landing page and scroll down just a bit farther to the category of News and Current Events and select the Historical News topic. Again, look for the "Free Access" indicator — you will find something for almost everyone here.
