Department of Georgia/South Carolina External - Provisional Department organized 1868. Department of Tennessee and Georgia formed, February 26, 1884. Georgia constituted a separate department, December 11, 1888. Department of Georgia, consisting of Georgia and South Carolina formed on January 25, 1889.
South Carolina External was part of this department.
