The following external websites contain primary source materials related to the Great Depression and New Deal.
The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) has custody of the bulk of the administrative files of New Deal-era agencies (although some records were retained by institutions in the states in which agency activities took place). NARA's collections are extremely large, and so only a small percentage of materials have been digitized to date.
Use the National Archives Catalog to search across its holdings. The Advanced Search screen allows users to limit searches to "Archival Materials Online." (vs. descriptions of materials available onsite) For more information, see: "Using the Catalog."
