Central America Journals Online (CAMJOL) is a database of journals published in Nicaragua, Honduras and El Salvador, covering the full range of academic disciplines. The objective of CAMJOL is to give greater visibility to the participating journals and the research that they transmit. CAMJOL, originally called Latin American Journals Online (LAMJOL), is primarily in Spanish, but also features some English abstracts and tables of contents. CAMJOL provides information about each participating journal, including objectives and scope, contact details and general information. It also provides tables of contents and summaries when available for articles published in these journals. Many full-text articles are available.

The Handbook of Latin American Studies (HLAS) is a bibliography on Latin America consisting of works selected and annotated by scholars. Edited by the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress, the multidisciplinary Handbook alternates annually between the social sciences and the humanities. Each year, more than 130 academics from around the world choose between 2,000-3,000 works for inclusion in the Handbook. Continuously published since 1936, the Handbook offers Latin Americanists an essential guide to available resources.

Latindex is a portal for disseminating information about and access to academic and professional research journals published in Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain, and Portugal. Founded in 1995 by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Latindex became a cooperative regional network in 1997. Its mission is to make available and improve the quality of academic journals published in the region through collaboration and job sharing. The journals are classified into seven main groups: arts and humanities, agricultural sciences, engineering sciences, natural sciences, medical sciences, social sciences, and multidisciplinary.

Plataforma Democrtica is an initiative of the IFHC Foundation and the Edelstein Center for Social Research devoted to strengthening Latin American democratic institutions and culture, through the production of knowledge and promotion of a pluralistic debate on the transformation of society and politics in the region and the world.

Plataforma Democrtica provides a free access virtual library with thousands of texts on issues related to democracy in Latin America and a data-base on research institutions. Plataforma Democrtica develops research in key areas for the consolidation of democracy in the region, producing reports, which are discussed with Latin-American public intellectuals and transformed into widely, circulated texts. Together with the twenty-associated research centers, located in eleven countries, conducts forums to promote dialogue between producers of knowledge and different social and political actors.

The Confidential Print series, issued by the Foreign and Colonial Offices since around 1820, is one of the most important series produced by the British Government (The National Archives, Kew). It originated out of a need for the Government to preserve all of the most important papers generated by the Foreign and Colonial Offices. Some of these were one-page letters or telegrams others were large volumes or texts of treaties. All items marked Confidential Print were printed and circulated immediately to leading officials in the Foreign Office, to the Cabinet and to heads of British missions abroad. The documents of Confidential Print: Latin America cover the whole of South and Central America, plus the non-British islands of the Caribbean, from just after the final Spanish withdrawal from mainland America in the 1820s to the height of the Cold War in the 1960s. Covering revolutions, territorial changes and political movements, foreign financial interests, industrial and infrastructural development (including the building of the Panama Canal), wars, slavery, immigration from Europe and relations with indigenous peoples. It includes materials such as:

HAPI provides authoritative, worldwide information about Central and South America, Mexico, the Caribbean basin, the United States-Mexico border region, and Hispanics in the United States. From analyses of current political, economic, and social issues to unique coverage of Latin American arts and letters, HAPI Online contains complete bibliographic citations to articles, book reviews, documents, original literary works, and other materials appearing in more than 650 key social science and humanities journals published throughout the world. About 80% of the citations are linked to full text. The recently updated site features: English, Spanish, and Portuguese interfaces as well as the ability to search subject headings in any of these three languages search with or without accents and other diacritics and get the same results and weekly updates of new records.

ISLA provides a selection of current news articles drawn from eight major English-language newspapers, covering political, economic and social developments in Latin America. Full-text clippings include selected opinion columns, analytical pieces, significant letters and book reviews, as well as relevant editorials. The newspapers canvassed for ISLA are: Christian Science Monitor, Financial Times, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Manchester Guardian/Le Monde, New York Times, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal.

This resource represents the largest fully searchable collection of historical newspapers from around the globe, the World Newspaper Archive will advance research and offer opportunities for fresh insight across wide-ranging academic disciplines. This expanding online resource was created in partnership between Readex, a division of NewsBank, and the Center for Research Libraries (CRL)one of the world's largest and most important newspaper repositories.
