Notes: Pasquale Cobianchi was the editor of L'Indipendente from 1920s to 1930s. It began as a weekly in September 1904, then became a daily and in 1916 it went back to being a weekly. Touted as the "first and only Italian daily in New England," it portrayed itself as an instrument for the protection of Italian immigrants who were not welcomed in New Haven and then defined its role more specifically as a newspaper dedicated to the welfare of the Italian working classes. Significantly, it was an outlier of the Italian colonization of Ethiopia but it never really went beyond its general purpose of asserting middle-class values.

Notes: Il Corriere del Connecticut was a weekly newspaper that included a section titled Corriere di Bridgeport from March 16, 1903 to December 3, 1904. It was associated with the Hartford Bulletin from March 25 to May 27, 1955. A Waterbury edition was called La Verita', Corriere del Connecticut and began on July 21, 1939. Il Corriere was a purveyor of sound middle-class cultural values tempering any reference to class conflict.

Notes: The Italian Heritage Newlsetter was created, published, edited, and authored by Joseph A. Tigani, academician of the Accademia Tiberina of Rome, who obtained various important official forms of recognition granted by the Italian government and King Unmberto II of Italy for his efforts to spread knowledge of Italian heritage in the United States.
