Jazz Stock Arrangements: A Resource Guide

Melrose Syncopation Series

The first important set of jazz "stocks"—published sets of parts for jazz orchestra—was the Melrose Syncopation Series. Some of these stocks were not deposited for copyright, and are thus not represented in the collections of the Music Division. This is a list of the Melrose Syncopation Series stocks we do have. This list contains only material located by Music Reference Specialist Wayne Shirley during a search for Melrose stocks made in 1988-1989. Some other Melrose stocks are not owned by the Library of Congress; some are owned but have not been located.
