Introduction

The Henry A. Kissinger Chair in Foreign Policy and International Relations at the John W. Kluge Center serves as a catalyst for fresh analysis of foreign affairs in the global era. The Kissinger Chair is appointed annually by the Librarian of Congress upon the recommendation of a selection committee including representatives from the academic community and high-ranking foreign policy experts no longer in office. While in residence at the Kluge Center, the Chair engages in research on foreign policy and international affairs that will lead to publication.

The Kissinger Chair has supported scholars from a wide range of academic backgrounds. The following materials and presentations will guide you in getting to know their work.

How does vaccine development play into the rivalry between the two powers? Is a US-China Cold War in the works, or already here? In this Kluge Center event, John Haskell, director of the center, discusses with former Library of Congress Chair in U.S.-China Relations Carla P. Freeman and Kissinger Chair Hal Brands.
