Catalogs of an artist's works can be useful resources for research. Many catalogs contain both reproductions of the artist's works along with context and background for each work. A catalogue raisonné (reasoned catalog) is a special comprehensive, annotated listing of all the known artworks by an artist either in a particular medium or all media.
