Missouri was organized as a territory in 1812 and the second state (after Louisiana) of the Louisiana Purchase to be admitted to the Union on August 10, 1821. The digital collections of the Library of Congress contain a wide variety of material associated with Missouri, including manuscripts, broadsides, government documents, books, and maps. This guide compiles links to digital materials related to Missouri that are available throughout the Library of Congress website. In addition, it provides links to external websites focusing on Missouri and a bibliography containing selected works for both a general audience and younger readers.
