Play Index covers a wide range of plays written in or translated into English, including mysteries, pageants, plays in verse, puppet performances, radio and television plays, and classic drama. Search for over 30,000 plays by title author subject (sisters, culture conflict, marriage) style (symbolism, experimental theater) genre (comedy, melodrama, musical) cast type and more. Play Index provides the full publication details needed to locate the play in its published manifestations. For plays published separately, the publisher, date, pagination, ISBN, and LC number are given. Play Index includes plays published as single volumes and also plays in anthologies and collections. Plays in collections link to full bibliographic information.

Oxford Music Online includes The Oxford Companion to Music (2002) The Oxford Dictionary of Music, Second Edition, Revised (2006) and Grove Music Online, which comprises The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, 2nd Edition (2001), The New Grove Dictionary of Opera (1992), and The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz, 2nd Edition (2001). The database contains articles on music history, music theory and practice, musical terminology, instruments and their history, and the music of various locations ranging from continents to units as small as a city. Also contains biographies of composers, performers and writers on music, as well as historic and current figures associated with the art and business of music. Extensive work lists and bibliographies conclude most articles. Other features include links to sound examples via partnerships with Classical Music Library and DRAM, links to the RILM database of music bibliography, and biographical linking to the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography.

JSTOR is a highly selective digital library of academic content in many disciplines. The Library of Congress's subscriptions to JSTOR provide access to thousands of scholarly journals in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. JSTOR works with a diverse group of nearly 1,200 publishers from more than 57 countries to preserve and make their content digitally available.
Also provided is access to JSTOR Daily, which offers a fresh way for people to understand and contextualize their world. JSTOR Daily writers provide insight, commentary, and analysis of ideas, research, and current events, tapping into the rich scholarship on JSTOR. Index of doctoral dissertations and master's theses, with coverage from 1861 to the present. Those published from 1980 to present include abstracts, and many of those published since the 1990's are available in full text (PDF digital format) along with 24 page previews. Full text dissertations may be downloaded to a zip disc or emailed to a user account (but be aware that restrictions on your email account or security precautions at your institution might prevent the document from reaching you after leaving the Library). Please limit printing from Library of Congress workstations to citations and summaries.

Variety, a magazine for the entertainment industry, covers the worldwide media and entertainment marketplace and features the most current entertainment news, box office reports, and film and television production charts. 104 years of Variety and Daily Variety are now digitally available, allowing users to conveniently trace the history of the entertainment business and its biggest players. The weekly edition of Variety began publication December 16, 1905, while Daily Variety began September 6, 1933. Archived issues for Variety (weekly) begin March 18, 1906, however, the issues for March 29, 1932-June 14, 1932 are missing. Daily Variety is archived in its entirety. Variety and Daily Variety continue to be updated with new content. Issues for both appear in the Archives about a week after their publication dates.

Show Music on Record is an updated digital version of the definitive reference source by Jack Raymond, first published in 1982. It provides a reference list of recordings of songs from American shows (and of foreign shows that played in America) as performed by members of original, revival, and studio casts. Included are shows produced for the American stage, screen, and television, as well as foreign musical films that played in America. It also includes records of composers performing their own show songs and selected other recordings of related interest. The recordings listed come from various commercially-released show music recordings, starting with those captured on early cylinders in the late 19th century and continuing through compact disc productions of the early 21st century.
