The following selected sites act as portals to datasets concerning natural hazards and disasters. While mainly focused on the United States, some of these sites include global datasets on severe weather events.

Most are easily accessible through a web browser, though some may require an account creation in order to download the datasets.

Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters: EM-DAT: The International Disaster Database External
A global collaboration between organizations and government agencies, this database is searchable by disaster type, country of origin, and the source of the information.
DATA.GOV: Data Catalog
A searchable conglomeration of thousands of U.S. government datasets on a variety of topics, including agriculture, ecosystems, climate, and ocean.
International Research Institute for Climate and Society: Data Library External
Provides access to datasets focused around climate-related data by using a standard web browser.
Socioeconomic Data and Applications Center: Hazards and Disaster Risk Datasets External
Provides dozens of datasets regarding natural hazards and disasters, as well as maps and other resources.
National Centers for Environmental Information: Severe Weather Data
Provides information through the Storm Events Database, Severe Weather Data Inventory, and lightening strike data products.
National Hurricane Center Data Archive
Provides access to reports, advisories, maps, and history of storms.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration: Dataset Gallery
Provides access to dozens of datasets curated by NOAA covering past weather, average temperatures, and severe weather.
