The NBC Television Program Analysis Microfiche represent a comprehensive account of the programs, performers, and guests that appeared on NBC television from 1939 through 1985. These microfiche complement the 18,000 television programs received as part of the larger NBC Television Collection. The Program Analysis Microfiche are composed of four sections: 1) Title Cards—Complete listing of series, specials, movies and episode titles aired on the NBC network which includes information on airdates, days, and times of broadcast; 2) Program Cards—Contain detailed information about commercial and sustaining programs from 1939 to April 1985; 3) Cross-Reference Cards—Cross-reference program and program segments from 1962 to 1985 by subject; includes a few subject that pre-date 1962 such as Civil Rights; 4) Personality Cards—Contain information on people appearing on the NBC television network from 1939 to 1985; each personality card includes name, profession, date, and program title for each appearance.

The press releases in the NBC Collection date from January 1924 through December 1989. (The 1940 and 1941 volumes were not included in the donation and are presumably lost.) The pre-network press releases were produced by WEAF, while still under AT&T ownership. That WEAF regularly issued detailed press releases at such an early date is evidence of that station's greater wealth and sophistication in comparison to most, if not all other, early radio stations in America.

The collection includes memoranda, correspondence, speeches, reports, policy statements, and pamphlets covering the creation of the network, its growth in the field of radio, and its subsequent expansion into television broadcasting.
