For researchers hoping to copy and publish images from the New York World-Telegram & Sun Newspaper Photograph Collection, information about how to assess rights to images in the collection and how to obtain both reference and quality copies is provided below.
Images can be copied with a hand-held camera (see the Prints and Photographs Division’s policy on hand-held copying below.) Researchers can also show reading room staff images they wish to copy in the reading room copy machine, but most images in the collection are too old to be copied in this way. Researchers should always copy the backs of photos, as much important information can be found there.
Researchers can download digital files.
