Original or Reprint? A Guide to Noteworthy Newspaper Issues

Noteworthy Issues

The following is a list of historical newspaper issues that are known to have been reprinted after the date of their original issue. Click each title below or on the left-side navigation panel for more information, including the identifying features of original issues versus reprinted issues. The content is adapted from several "Information Circulars" created by staff in the Serial & Government Publications Division that describe historic issues, facsimiles, and/or reprints in the newspaper collections at the Library of Congress.

NOTE: Only print holdings are described in this guide; a newspaper may also be available in microfilm and/or digital formats. In some cases, information is provided for other repositories that report having original copies of a particular issue. Please ask reference staff if you have any questions about library holdings.
