The first release of the online collection contains approximately 1,000 items that yield a total of about 5,000 images. These items date from 1899 to 1981, with most from the 1920s through the 1950s, and were selected from Copland's music sketches, correspondence, writings, and photographs. Celebrating the centennial of the birth of the American composer Aaron Copland (1900-1990), the multi-format Aaron Copland Collection, from which the online collection derives, spans the years 1910 to 1990 and includes approximately 400,000 items documenting the multifaceted life of an extraordinary person who was composer, performer, teacher, writer, conductor, commentator, and administrator.

Andre Kostelanetz (1901-1980) was a Russian-born conductor, arranger, and pianist known for juxtaposing popular and classical repertoire in radio broadcasts during the 1930s and 1940s. He had a highly successful concert career performing with some of the world's foremost orchestras and leading the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Kostelanetz also commissioned several compositions which have since become staples in the orchestral repertoire, including works by Aaron Copland, William Schuman, and Jerome Kern. This site focuses on Kostelanetz's role in American music, particularly what is known as the Kostelanetz sound, by presenting recordings, broadcasts, scores, and interviews selected from the Andre Kostelanetz Collection. These materials, together with correspondence, programs, and photographs provide an introduction to how and with whom Kostelanetz created "The Music Millions Love."

The Coronavirus Web Archive contains representative web-based content that documents the impact and response to the Covid-19 pandemic on communities across the United States and the world. This collection was curated by subject specialists from across the Library in order to present a multidisciplinary collection.

Following the professional lives of the husband-wife artistic duo, this presentation features a wide variety of materials, including manuscripts, scores, scripts, photographs, sound recordings and video clips from the Danny Kaye and Sylvia Fine Collection. Kaye, a multi-faceted entertainer, worked his way from performing at summer resorts to starring in feature films and conducting major symphony orchestras. Fine, a composer and writer, went from writing revues at small theatres to composing music for Danny’s studio films and teaching at Yale University.

The programs for "Great Conversations in Music" were created and hosted by the late Eugene Istomin (1925-2003). Filmed between December 2001 and March 2003 at the Library of Congress and the American Academy of Arts and Letters in New York, the television series spotlighted distinguished pianists, string players, composers, and conductors and offered engaging and informative discussions led by Istomin on the state of the art of music. Conductors interviewed were James Conlon, Zubin Mehta, and Mstislav Rostropovich.

The career of Irving Fine (1914-1962), composer, conductor, writer, and academic, is documented in the Library of Congress Music Division by approximately 4,350 items from the Irving Fine Collection. Comprising manuscript and printed music, sketchbooks, writings, personal and business correspondence, scrapbooks, programs, clippings, and sound recordings, the collection contains most of the creative work of this colleague of Aaron Copland and Leonard Bernstein.

Materials in this digital collection comprise examples drawn from three series in the Serge Koussevitzky Archive. Koussevitzky’s correspondence, A variety of items from papers documenting the development of Koussevitzky’s brainchild, the world-renowned Berkshire Music Center at “Tanglewood," and items selected from the Photographs series.

Bernstein, arguably the most prominent figure in American classical music of the second half of the twentieth century, made his impact as a conductor, as a composer of classical and theater music, and as an educator through books, conducting students at Tanglewood, and especially through various televised lecture series that helped define the potentials of that medium. The online Leonard Bernstein collection makes available a significant selection of correspondence both to and from Bernstein, musical sketches for several of his major works, writings, including the scripts for his Young People's Concerts, Thursday Evening Previews, Omnibus, and Ford Presents, his scrapbooks, photographs, and audio-visual materials.

The Professional Organizations for Performing Arts Web Archive contains websites and select social media to document professional networks in the performing arts over time. The collection items are those of professional, labor, and advocacy organizations at regional, national, and international levels.
