The Near East Section holds a collection of Ottoman Turkish newspapers and periodicals, which includes approximately 120 number of titles, covering history, foreign relations, literature, law, military and geography, primarily from 1870 to 1920. This collection may be accessed through the African and Middle Eastern Reading Room in LJ-229. There are microfilm readers in the reading room for researchers' use. Appointments to use the Ottoman newspapers or periodicals may be requested through Ask a Librarian.
