Part II, Boxes 9-106, contains correspondence between Justice William J. Brennan and numerous judges from federal courts across the United States. It consists of letters received, copies of letters sent, and appended related matter. It is arranged in two groups: Set I spans the period from December 1946 to May 1986 and principally concerns the Warren and Burger courts; Set II spans the period from June 1986 to January 1998 and chiefly covers the Rehnquist court. Material within each set is arranged alphabetically by name of person, name of organization, or topic, and chronologically thereunder.

Correspondence, memoranda, articles and columns, notebooks and notes, subject files, interviews, and other material documenting Broder's career as a journalist. Broder had many government officials as contacts whom he interviewed about issues relevant to national issues that often came before federal courts such as the Watergate scandal and campaign finance reform (Buckley v. Valeo).

Correspondence:memoranda, legal material, writings, teaching file, organization and committee files, clippings, photographs, and other papers relating primarily to Dash's legal career after 1964, and more particularly his role in governmental investigations in particular the Watergate Affair and the Whitewater Inquiry.

The majority of the Farmer papers focuses on the espionage case of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg Rosenberg and includes correspondence with the lawyers who represented the couple and other supporters, court documents, partial trial transcripts, drafts and filings of complaints, briefs and petitions, and other legal filings by Farmer. Also in the Rosenberg legal papers are files relating to Farmer's law suit (United States ex rel. Farmer v. Kaufman) in 1990 against Irving R. Kaufman, the judge who presided over the Rosenbergs' trial.

Transcripts of oral history interviews with judges, judges’ spouses, lawyers, and court staff associated with the United States Circuit Court for the District of Columbia. Topics include biographical information, judicial procedures, prominent cases, and law clerks.

Correspondence, notebooks and notes, subject files, interviews, articles and columns, reports, speeches and writings, newspaper clippings, printed matter, and other material documenting primarily Lewis’s professional activities as a newspaper columnist. The Annual File series, 1949-2007, in Part II of the Lewis papers is a particularly rich resource. It documents Lewis’s correspondence with an array of individuals including colleagues, Supreme Court justices, judges, lawyers, members of Congress, government officials, and academics who were involved with issues that came before the federal judiciary. Most of the letters are filed in the miscellaneous folders located after topics but they can also be found in the topic files. Lewis’s column for the New York Times covered a wide range of subjects such as courts, the Supreme Court, the environment (surroundings), capital punishment, libel issues, free speech, presidential administrations and elections, the Iran-Contra Affair, and Watergate.

Chiefly legal files together with correspondence, memoranda, minutes of meetings, oral history interviews, speeches, writings, subject files, appointment books, and other papers relating to Rauh's career as a public interest lawyer handling cases pertaining to civil rights, civil liberties, and labor disputes. Many of Rauh’s cases came before the courts in the District of Columbia Circuit.
