The Digital Collections contain all the digitized publications of the Ibero-American Institute. Users can search digitized objects such as manuscripts, maps, books, photographs, papers & documents or access the different collections. If users create their personal user accounts, the search results can be saved and then exchanged with other registered users. Users can also annotate the digitized objects they are working with and create their own virtual bookshelves. Research tools are available in German, Spanish and English.

The site currently includes 5 collections:

Latindex is a portal for disseminating information about and access to academic and professional research journals published in Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain, and Portugal. Founded in 1995 by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Latindex became a cooperative regional network in 1997. Its mission is to make available and improve the quality of academic journals published in the region through collaboration and job sharing. The journals are classified into seven main groups: arts and humanities, agricultural sciences, engineering sciences, natural sciences, medical sciences, social sciences, and multidisciplinary.

The British Library’s Endangered Archives Programme seeks to preserve cultural heritage and make it available to as wide an audience as possible. “Endangered” means material that is at risk of loss or decay, and is located in countries where resources and opportunities to preserve such material are lacking or limited. “Archives” refers to materials in written, pictorial or audio formats, including manuscripts, rare printed books, documents, newspapers, periodicals, photographs and sound recordings. The Endangered Archives Programme primarily funds digitization projects to record and preserve the content of archives. Our projects create digital material in a format that facilitates long-term preservation, and at least two copies of these are stored: a primary copy that remains at an appropriate repository in the country of origin, and a secondary copy held at the British Library. The EAP website provides access to these digital collections for research, education, and enjoyment. Digital collections reflect archives from many African, Caribbean, Eastern European, Middle Eastern, South American, South Asian, and Southeast Asian countries.

HAPI provides authoritative, worldwide information about Central and South America, Mexico, the Caribbean basin, the United States-Mexico border region, and Hispanics in the United States. From analyses of current political, economic, and social issues to unique coverage of Latin American arts and letters, HAPI Online contains complete bibliographic citations to articles, book reviews, documents, original literary works, and other materials appearing in more than 650 key social science and humanities journals published throughout the world. About 80% of the citations are linked to full text. The recently updated site features: English, Spanish, and Portuguese interfaces as well as the ability to search subject headings in any of these three languages search with or without accents and other diacritics and get the same results and weekly updates of new records.

The Digital National Security Archive (DNSA) contains the most comprehensive set of declassified government documents available. Each of these meticulously indexed collections is compiled by top scholars and experts and exhaustively covers the most critical world events, countries, and U.S. policy decisions from post World War II through the 21st century. These collections offer unparalleled access to the defining international strategies of our time. Glossaries, chronologies, bibliographies, overviews, and photographs are included.

The Confidential Print series, issued by the Foreign and Colonial Offices since around 1820, is one of the most important series produced by the British Government (The National Archives, Kew). It originated out of a need for the Government to preserve all of the most important papers generated by the Foreign and Colonial Offices. Some of these were one-page letters or telegrams others were large volumes or texts of treaties. All items marked Confidential Print were printed and circulated immediately to leading officials in the Foreign Office, to the Cabinet and to heads of British missions abroad. The documents of Confidential Print: Latin America cover the whole of South and Central America, plus the non-British islands of the Caribbean, from just after the final Spanish withdrawal from mainland America in the 1820s to the height of the Cold War in the 1960s. Covering revolutions, territorial changes and political movements, foreign financial interests, industrial and infrastructural development (including the building of the Panama Canal), wars, slavery, immigration from Europe and relations with indigenous peoples. It includes materials such as:

• Incoming and outgoing diplomatic dispatches
• Correspondence
• Statistical charts and tables
• Descriptions of leading personalities

The resource also features 300 color maps, a number of them previously separated from their parent files at The National Archives but cross-referenced with those files here for ease of scholarly use.

International Mapping is pleased to offer public access to their Maritime Database of the World. Assisting sovereign States with their maritime boundary disputes is International Mapping's core business; it represents an area of expertise that they have been developing for many decades. This database is the culmination of thousands of hours of research, analysis, compilation and illustration. Their goal is to provide users with an accurate, concise and up-to-date snapshot of the events that are constantly reshaping the world’s maritime areas. Note: as of 1 December 2014, Boundary Briefs are only available for North American, Central America/Caribbean, and South America Regions. Map Posters and GIS Data are available for all regions.
