Popular Sheet Music for Voice and Piano: A Guide to Resources at the Library of Congress

Sound Recordings

Some recordings of popular song for voice and piano have been digitized and made available on the Library's website. Many of these recordings have been grouped into playlists that complement the Music Division's holdings of popular sheet music for voice and piano.

Many recordings of popular sheet music have been made available through the National Jukebox. Recordings in the Jukebox were issued on record labels now owned by Sony Music Entertainment, which has granted the Library of Congress a gratis license to stream acoustical recordings. Browse by genre to find recordings of popular music under a variety of categories, including whistling, musical theater, humorous songs, and more.

The National Jukebox also features playlists compiled by Library of Congress curators, project partners, and guest experts. All playlists consist of audio selections available on the website.

Find other recordings of popular song for voice and piano by searching the Library's website and limiting results to "Audio Recordings" or "Film, Video." Some performances have also been shared and made available on the Library's website as part of the Concerts from the Library of Congress Collection. The following list is a representative sample of the different kinds of recordings and places you can find them within the Library's digital collections.
