Collaboration between various archives and institutions which provides access to digital and web-based archives. Includes materials from different archives and libraries in Puerto Rico and abroad.

The Archivo General de Puerto Rico (General Archives of Puerto Rico), established in 1955, is an archive documenting the history and culture of Puerto Rico. The governmental Institute of Puerto Rican Culture began overseeing its operation in 1956. It is located in a building shared with the national library on Avenida Juan Ponce de León in San Juan. Among its collections is the "Fondo de Obras Publicas" (records of public works), formerly housed in the University of Puerto Rico's archives.

Academic organization that focuses on the scholarship of the Caribbean Basin which includes Central America, the Caribbean Coast of Mexico, as well as Venezuela, Colombia, Northeast Brazil and the three Guianas. The Association serves a critical function for scholars providing one of the only venues for persons working on the Caribbean to come together to share their work, to engage in collaborative endeavors, to exchange ideas, to meet each other, and to develop the field of Caribbean Studies.

CENTRO Library & Archives is a treasured place where researchers, academics, teachers, students, genealogists, filmmakers, and the community at large find primary (historical documents) and secondary sources about the history and culture of the Puerto Rican diaspora. Visitors can gain access to books, photographs, documents, artifacts, art, maps, oral histories, moving image and audio clips, and digitized or born digital material pertaining to stateside Puerto Ricans via our Library Catalog, Archival Database, and Digital Collections.

Colección Puertorriqueña is a specialized collection within the University of Puerto Rico Library System. CPR has vast collections in multiple formats - print items, digital items, photographs, ephemera, newspapers - among other items, all about/from Puerto Rico. Includes search catalog, and digitized finding aides & indexes.

ECLAC, which is headquartered in Santiago, Chile, is one of the five regional commissions of the United Nations. It was founded with the purpose of contributing to the economic development of Latin America, coordinating actions directed towards this end, and reinforcing economic ties among countries and with other nations of the world. The promotion of the region's social development was later included among its primary objectives. The Commission prepares reports on economic, social, demographic, and cultural resources on the countries in Latin America & the Caribbean.

Founded in 1919, El Mundo was a respected, conservative newspaper from Puerto Rico and was widely considered a key source for news until it ceased in 1990. The paper strived to live up to its slogan "Verdad y Justicia" (Truth and Justice). Key topics covered by the newspaper include industrialization of Puerto Rican society, the Great Depression, territorial relations with the United States including citizenship and activities of independence movements such as the Macheteros and FALN, the rise of the Popular Democratic Party, the Ponce massacre, the Ley de la Mordaza (Gag Law) and more. Creation of the El Mundo Digital Archive has been made possible through the support of the Center for Research Libraries and the collaboration of the University of Puerto Rico, which owns the copyright for the publication.

The records held by the National Archives in New York City related to Puerto Rico span the full spectrum of government activities: from census rolls to court cases, from military installations to economic development projects. The materials document the history of the Federal government’s often complicated relationship with Puerto Rico and reveal its reach within the Puerto Rican community on the island. By documenting Federal activities over the course of Puerto Rican history for more than a hundred years, these materials provide important insight into the collective understanding of both Puerto Rican society and the larger American experience. Puerto Rican records at NARA include: Naturalization Records, Puerto Rico Reconstruction Administration (PRRA), Records concerning foreigners in Puerto Rico, among others.

Primarily focused on NYPL collections, this guide presents: an overview of Puerto Rican migration, suggested reference works, catalog and database research tips (for NYPL and beyond), information on finding vital and church records, an overview of understanding naming conventions, and recommended venues to continue researching. This guide features tips and resources for accessing information resources, including links to print and digital collections accessible at The New York Public Library (NYPL).

The Puerto Rico Research Hub is the center of activities dedicated to the study of Puerto Ricans at the University of Central Florida. The purpose of the Research Hub is to investigate, disseminate knowledge and promote creative solutions to pressing issues affecting the Puerto Rican population, its diaspora, and surrounding communities. The Hub continues to position itself as the gateway for research for Latin America and the Caribbean. Includes a section on publications and reports, current research projects, and other information related to the center.
