The Biographical Directory of the United States Congress is a biographical dictionary of all present and former members of the United States Congress as well as its predecessor, the Continental Congress. Also included are Delegates from territories and the District of Columbia and Resident Commissioners from the Philippines and Puerto Rico. The on-line version goes well beyond the scope of the printed Biographical Directory to include images from the large photo collections of the Senate Historical Office and the Legislative Resource Center, additional information previously published in separate volumes (Guide to Research Collections of Former United States Senators Senators of the United States: a Historical Bibliography and Guide to Research Collections of Former Members of the House of Representatives), links to other sources of congressional information, and continuously updated entries that provide biographical information in clear and easy-to-read formats. Database searchable by name, state, position, party and year.

The Caribbean Newspaper Digital Library (CNDL) is supported by the Digital Library of the Caribbean (dLOC), a cooperative digital library for newspapers resources from the Caribbean and circum-Caribbean. CNDL provides access to digitized versions of Caribbean newspapers, gazettes, and other research materials on newsprint currently held in archives, libraries, and private collections. CNDL continues to add historical and current newspapers through ongoing digitization and born-digital curation, expanding the geographic, temporal, political and linguistic variety of the newspapers.

The Center for Research Libraries (CRL), based in Chicago, is an international consortium of university, college, and independent research libraries. Founded in 1949, CRL supports advanced research and teaching in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences by preserving and making available to scholars the primary source material critical to those disciplines. Documents, newspapers, books, and journals are among the items in their collections, mostly acquired from outside the United States. Many of their resources are from the five emerging regions of the world: Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and Latin America.

Chronicling America provides free access to millions of pages of historic American public domain newspapers. More than 3000 titles, published in 48 states and territories and the District of Columbia are available (eventual coverage will be all states and territories, 1690-1963). The headlines, articles and advertisements capture the life and times of the American people, shining new light on historic events as they unfolded. Also provides a link to find information about newspapers published in the United States from 1690. Produced by the National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP), a partnership between the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the Library of Congress.

The Digital Archive of Latin American and Caribbean Ephemera is a steadily growing repository containing a previously unavailable subset of Princeton University’s Latin American Ephemera Collection as well as newly acquired materials being digitized and added on an ongoing basis.

Established in 2004, with nine founding partners, five from the Caribbean and four from the United States, today the Digital Library of the Caribbean (dLOC) has expanded to more than 90 partners, and over 40 Associate Partners based in the Caribbean, Canada, Europe, and the United States. A joint technical and administrative operation between the University of Florida and Florida International University, the Digital Library of the Caribbean (dLOC), is an open access database and repository that includes collections from and about the Caribbean. Materials included in dLOC are pulled from archives, libraries, private collections, and other institutions of memory, available in multiple languages, such as English, Spanish, French, among others. It is a collection of collections and serves as a centralized repository for locating these materials, which include manuscripts, newspapers, rare books, maps, photographs, and other sources. It is accessible and has a basic and advanced search bar that is user-friendly.

The ECLAC Digital Repository provides access to over 42,000 digital objects; from the first publications made in 1948 to the most recent ones - inclusive of a growing audiovisual collection. All documents are available in full text and are free to download.

The British Library’s Endangered Archives Programme seeks to preserve cultural heritage and make it available to as wide an audience as possible. “Endangered” means material that is at risk of loss or decay, and is located in countries where resources and opportunities to preserve such material are lacking or limited. “Archives” refers to materials in written, pictorial or audio formats, including manuscripts, rare printed books, documents, newspapers, periodicals, photographs and sound recordings. The Endangered Archives Programme primarily funds digitization projects to record and preserve the content of archives. Our projects create digital material in a format that facilitates long-term preservation, and at least two copies of these are stored: a primary copy that remains at an appropriate repository in the country of origin, and a secondary copy held at the British Library. The EAP website provides access to these digital collections for research, education, and enjoyment. Digital collections reflect archives from many African, Caribbean, Eastern European, Middle Eastern, South American, South Asian, and Southeast Asian countries.

HathiTrust is a digital repository for the nation's great research libraries that brings together the immense collections of its partner institutions. Initially conceived as a collaboration between the thirteen universities of the Committee on Institutional Cooperation, the University of California system, and the University of Virginia in order to establish a repository for those universities to archive and share their digitized collections, HathiTrust quickly expanded to include additional partners with a fast growing treasure of digitized collections.

The Handbook of Latin American Studies (HLAS) is a bibliography on Latin America consisting of works selected and annotated by scholars. Edited by the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress, the multidisciplinary Handbook alternates annually between the social sciences and the humanities. Each year, more than 130 academics from around the world choose between 2,000-3,000 works for inclusion in the Handbook. Continuously published since 1936, the Handbook offers Latin Americanists an essential guide to available resources.

It is a discovery tool that provides access to resources (audiovisual materials, books, data, ephemera, government documents, oral histories, periodicals, newspapers, reference works, web archives, among others), available at other institutions/libraries/universities across the United States, Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Resources are available in multiple languages, such as: English, Spanish, Portuguese, among others. It is accessible and has a search bar that is user-friendly.

Latindex is a portal for disseminating information about and access to academic and professional research journals published in Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain, and Portugal. Founded in 1995 by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Latindex became a cooperative regional network in 1997. Its mission is to make available and improve the quality of academic journals published in the region through collaboration and job sharing. The journals are classified into seven main groups: arts and humanities, agricultural sciences, engineering sciences, natural sciences, medical sciences, social sciences, and multidisciplinary.

SciELO Social Sciences English Edition is the product of a joint effort between SciELO and several other institutions whose objective is to promote international access to Latin American scientific journals in the social sciences. The website provides access to the full text of journal articles via author, title, and subject indexes and/or searches by author, title, keyword or publication year. Currently there are more than 30 open access journals from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. Journals will be added at a rate of approximately four a month.
