African American, Asian and Pacific Islander American, Hispanic and Latino American, and Native American military personnel all took part in the Korean War (1950-1953) and otherwise served in the war effort. These men and women served honorably and with distinction. For the Korean War, the Congressional Medal of Honor Society External lists at least two African Americans, three Asian/Pacific Islander Americans,16 Hispanic and Latino Americans, and three Native Americans as holders of the Medal of Honor.
