Racial, Ethnic, and Religious Minorities in World War I: A Resource Guide

Print Resources

Published, printed materials detailing the contributions and participation by various minority groups in the United States efforts during World War I are represented here. They are organized by major cultural, ethnic, and religious groups. These sources include information on such military units as the Porto Rico Regiment of Infantry (Puerto Rico), the 369th Infantry Regiment and the 92nd Infantry Division (African Americans), the Code-Talkers (Native Americans), and the 69th Infantry Regiment (Irish Americans). Also included are works on the unequal treatment and racism facing these groups, and their valuable contributions made on the home front.
