Richard Morris Hunt Research Guide

Searching & Viewing

The Hunt Collection in the American Institute of Architects / American Architectural Foundation (AIA/AAF) Collection at the Library of Congress is currently unprocessed. Although no finding aid is yet available, some of the Hunt Collection has been digitized and can be accessed online as described in the "Viewing Images Online" section below. For information about accessing items onsite, see "Viewing Materials On Site."

Viewing Images Online

The Hunt Collection has more than 15,000 items in various formats including drawings, photographs, sketchbooks, scrapbooks, and books, which are well-represented in the digitized content. More items are digitized each year, and those images are cataloged and added to the Library of Congress Prints & Photographs Online Catalog.

Viewing Materials On Site

  2. Schedule your visit: Communicate with the Prints & Photographs Division staff member who responds to your Ask a Librarian question. Continue communicating by responding to the same staff member who answers your initial message.
