The following personal papers and organizational records may be useful as you conduct research on the development and funding of the Rosenwald Schools. Included are the personal papers of Booker T. Washington and Julius Rosenwald, both of whom were greatly concerned about, and worked together to address, the impoverished state of African American education in the rural segregated south. Records listed below also document the involvement of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and contain Carter G. Woodson's file about the Rosenwald Schools Program.
