Websites of East European government ministries and agencies contain critical, primary sources for the study of all aspects of political, economic, and social life in the region. Much of the content on the sites is released exclusively in electronic format, and thus complements the Library of Congress print collections.
The Library of Congress archives selected Russian websites as one means of preserving online content for future research. Emphasis is placed on government-produced information and political materials. Below are descriptions of three relevant collections with links to access the archived sites. All sites have been released after a one-year waiting period on current content. For the latest content from each site, please visit the live sites. Selected additional captured websites from Russia may be available only onsite. Also included is a link to the Internet Archive which attempts to crawl the entire Internet, including many pages from Russia.
