Agitator Edinoi Rossii / Агитатор Единой России ('Campaigner for a United Russia') is a 156-page book with a print run of 1,000. It provides an outline of the party's political program written in simple language with easy-to-understand examples. The final chapter contains selected statistical information on the country's achievements during the 10 years of party leadership. A special chapter explains the concept of "suverennaia demokratiia" / суверенная демократия ('sovereign democracy'), a term adopted by ER around 2006 to describe Russia as governed by a dominant-party political system. A special chapter explains the term "tandem" / тандем as applied to cooperation and sharing powers and responsibilities between Putin and Medvedev. The concept of a tandem ruling system has historical context. Tsar Aleksei Mikhailovich and Patriarch Nikon were called "the wise duo" / "премудрая двоица" for their successful cooperation in governing Russia.
One leaflet designed for distribution in St. Petersburg is entitled "Vyberi Peterburg" / Выбери Петербург ('Choose Petersburg') and describes the six ER candidates from St. Petersburg. Among them are the Director of the Hermitage Museum Mikhail Piotrovskii and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitrii Kozak. Also noteworthy is the language of the leaflet, for example," . . . десять лет назад наша страна находилась . . . в глубочайшем упадке сопоставим[ом] . . . " / ('. . . ten years ago our country was . . . in deep depression analogous . . . to the consequences of the civil war . . .')
The letter is a flyer distributed in the name of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobianin and is enclosed in a self-seal white business envelope. Although it has no addressee information or postage, the envelope has the name of the sender "From S. Sobianin" stamped on it. The practice of sending such letters on certain occasions (anniversaries of state holidays, for example) dates back to Soviet times. Such letters are usually distributed through home mailboxes by a local post office or by campaign volunteers and have a particular appeal to the older generation since they look "personal."
Both newspapers are local editions for the Moscow region dated October 19, 2011 and November 23, 2011, with a print run of 1,000,000 each. The topics include a list of accomplishments achieved under the leadership of ER since the elections of 2007 "Azbuka real'nykh del Edinoi Rossii " / Азбука реальных дел “Единой России” ('ABC of Deeds by "Edinaia Rossiia"'), a list of projects and priorities for improving the infrastructure of Moscow and the Moscow region, including a long-delayed expansion of the Moscow city metro system, as well as a controversial merger of Moscow and the Moscow region (Moscow Oblast' / Московская oбласть) to form a new singe federal subject of Russia. It also has information on selected party candidates, namely Liudmila Shvetsova, Vladimir Dolgikh, Vladimir Krupennikov, and Margarita Rusetskaia.
One of the pocket calendars doubles as a folded map of the Moscow City Metro system, with locations and phones for Moscow city municipal offices and services, police stations, theaters, as well as local offices of ER.
