Russian Parliamentary and Presidential Elections Ephemera: a finding aid

Notes on parties, geographical locations, personal names, and definitions

The names of the parties, geographic locations, and personalities are rendered in the Library of Congress Romanization scheme.

  • once mentioned, a party's name is abbreviated (see below),
  • if a geographical location or a person is mentioned more than once in the same text, only the first entry has both English and Russian versions; only the English version is used thereafter,
  • once mentioned, personal names used repeatedly are given with surname only throughout the document (e.g., Putin instead of V. Putin, V.V. Putin or Vladimir Putin).
