DFAJ is the first directory of free online scholarly full text journals published in the Arab world. Included are journals covering all branches of human knowledge published by various scientific and academic bodies in 17 Arab countries. In Arabic, English, and French.

East View and the Center for Research Libraries (CRL) launched the charter phase of the GPA CRL Alliance in 2019 to develop a special series of collections for the East View Global Press Archive (GPA). With a focus on providing global access to a wide selection of newspapers from around the world, the GPA CRL Alliance has successfully released eight collections to date, including five Open Access collections:

Developed by Bloomsbury Qatar Foundation Journals, a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, QScience.com is a peer-reviewed online publishing platform. The main QScience.com is the online home for a growing range of peer-reviewed open access journals, e-books, and conference proceedings. Journal topics cover Medicine and Bioscience, Healthcare, Social Science, Islamic Studies, and Engineering. All abstracts are available in both English and Arabic and all content is accessible and fully searchable, 24/7, on the user's desktop or mobile device. QScience Proceedings is a forum for the dissemination of abstracts and full length papers given at meetings and conferences. The QScience COP18 collection consists of more than 140 articles drawn from the 2012 UN Climate Change Conference, covering the areas of ethics, corporate responsibility, food security, engineering, science, energy security, carbon capture and storage, sustainability, LNG, renewable energy, and business & management.

The Arabic Manuscript Manuscript System (AMMS) is a bi-lingual database that was originally developed at the University of Illinois in the late 1980s to describe a collection of Arabic manuscripts in southern Mauritania (Boutilimit). Subsequently, seven other West African collections have been entered, including the manuscript libraries at the Institut Mauritanien de Recherche Scientifique, Nouakchott Northwestern University the original hand-list of manuscripts at the IHERIAB (Centre Ahmad Baba) repository in Timbuktu the library of al-Hajj `Umar conserved at the Biblioth??que Nationale, Paris and a number of print catalogues from West Africa published by al-Furqan Islamic Heritage Foundation. Additional collections are being added to further enhance the database as both a resource and an authority file for the identification of manuscripts.

The database is comprised of five interactive data sets: the manuscript records, their authors, the authors?? nisbas, subjects, and the collections themselves. It has a search engine designed to identify manuscripts and authors when only fragmentary information is available, in Arabic or Latin characters. Experimental linkage of digital images of manuscript texts to the records is currently underway.

In June 2005, Librarian of Congress James H. Billington proposed establishing a World Digital Library to UNESCO. Four years later, the World Digital Library (WDL) was launched to the international public. The WDL makes available on the Internet, free of charge and in multilingual format, significant primary source materials from cultures around the world.Featuring high-quality digital items reflecting the cultural heritage of all UNESCO member countries, WDL includes manuscripts, maps, rare books, musical scores, recordings, films, prints, photographs, architectural drawings, and other significant cultural artifacts. The WDL interface is available in seven languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. The objectives of the WDL are to promote international and inter-cultural understanding and awareness, provide resources to educators, expand non-English and non-Western content on the Internet, and to contribute to scholarly research.

The Confidential Print series, issued by the Foreign and Colonial Offices since around 1820, is one of the most important series produced by the British Government (The National Archives, Kew). It originated out of a need for the Government to preserve all of the most important papers generated by the Foreign and Colonial Offices. Some of these were one-page letters or telegrams others were large volumes or texts of treaties. All items marked Confidential Print were printed and circulated immediately to leading officials in the Foreign Office, to the Cabinet and to heads of British missions abroad. Covering such important events as the Egyptian reforms of Muhammad Ali Pasha in the nineteenth century, the Middle East Conference of 1921, the Mandates for Palestine and Mesopotamia and the Suez Crisis in 1956, to the partition of Palestine, post-Suez Western foreign policy and the Arab-Israeli conflict, Confidential Print: Middle East is a fundamental resource for academics, students and researchers studying the modern Middle East. Regions covered include: the Arabian peninsula, the Levant, Iraq, Turkey and many of the former Ottoman lands in Europe, Iran, Afghanistan, Egypt and Sudan. The resource also features 300 color maps, a number of them previously separated from their parent files at The National Archives but cross-referenced with those files here for ease of scholarly use.

Included are primary news sources (full-text), financial data (including reports on financial markets, companies and industries), over 1 million listed and private company profiles, statistics, macroeconomic forecasts and analysis, and legal and regulatory information. Arranged by country, ISI emerging markets also includes country profiles, exchange rates, and business and political news approximately 9,000 publications of data, research and news from unrivalled sources (from the Economist Intelligence Unit and ViewsWire, as well as other local and global sources).

Foreign Office Files for the Middle East 1971-1981 is among the valuable collections sourced from the National Archives Kew, the official archive of the United Kingdom. This collection is an essential resource for understanding the events in the Middle East during the 1970s. It addresses the policies, economies, political relationships and significant events of every major Middle East power. Conflicts such as the Arab-Israeli War, the Lebanese Civil War and the Iranian Revolution are examined in detail, as are the military interventions and peace negotiations carried out by regional and foreign powers like the United States and Russia. The Modern Arab Renaissance Collection is made up of an exclusive electronic archive of books published from 1820-1914 from across the Islamic world, with special focus on Egypt and Syria. With over 2,500 titles, this collection covers humanistic, intellectual and scientific fields. Subject categories include philosophy and theology, literature, arts, history and politics, including writings from Mahmoud Abdo, Gamal El Din El Afgahany and Rashid Reda. Content is mostly in Arabic, with metadata in both Arabic and English and a bilingual English/Arabic search interface, including a virtual Arabic keyboard for easy text input.

MECAS is a bibliographic index of research, policy, and scholarly discourse on the countries and peoples of the Middle East, Central Asia and North Africa. Over 12,000 records of recently published & grey literature are added annually.
