Astronomy and Aeronautics
To aid in safely growing the airline industry, the Civil Aeronautics Authority (CAA) was created in 1938. This later became the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), an agency under the U.S. Department of Transportation. Our interest in space and space travel ultimately led to the establishment of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in 1958, formerly known as the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA), which had been founded in 1915 to promote research in aeronautics. The following links provide government image resources for the areas of astronomy and aeronautics.
