DLSD is a collaboration of the libraries of the six Board of Regents colleges and universities as well as partners in the state of South Dakota. The members of this consortium have chosen to make a variety of unique collections more readily available in digitally searchable and accessible versions. The collections you find here are widely varied and continually growing, and include audio, visual, and textual resources.

The fundamental purpose of the NPS is to conserve the scenery and the natural and historic objects and the wild life therein and to provide for the enjoyment of the same in such manner and by such means as will leave them unimpaired for the enjoyment of future generations. The NPS provides highlights, statistics, and a list of national parks for South Dakota.

SD.gov is the gateway to South Dakota state government Web sites and information. The site includes selected resources on federal, county, and local government.

While the site contains documents from government and manuscript collections, the largest collection consists of photographs, which are made available through the “Preserving South Dakota in Photos” initiative. The initiative makes the photographic collections more accessible via the web, decreases handling of the original photographs, and improves the catalog records for each of the photos. The initiative is funded by donations and grants.

The South Dakota State Historical Society empowers audiences to experience South Dakota's stories. The Society professionally collects, preserves, interprets, and publishes the history of South Dakota for present and future generations.

The South Dakota State Library's Digital Collections reflect the history and culture of South Dakota. Primarily of interest to librarians, researchers, and genealogists, our digital collections include newspaper articles, SD library photographs, state government annual reports and research reports, SD Codified Laws, Session Laws, House and Senate Journals and more.
